how should we study for the sonnet part of the final exam?

all sonnets are 14 lines
10 syllables per line
iambic pentameter

Italian sonnet
(Petrarchon)

2 quatrains
then the last 6 lines are variable to change.
they could be 4/2 2/2/2 3/3 etc

the turn always occurs on the 9th line

rhyme scheme
abba
abba
variable

Eng]lish sonnet
(Elizabethan)
(Shakespearean)

3 quatrains and a couplet

turn is ussually the 9th line but it could also be the 13th.

Rhyme scheme is
abab
cdcd
efef
gg

Does anyone remember any of the mahor sonnets that we discussed that he might be putting on the test?

is this test going to have specific examples of sonnets that weve covered?

Do we have to identify what kind of sonnet it is and also are we going to have a sonnet on the exam where we have to anaylze?

I Think he said that there would not actually be any sonnets on the test but he said that you can try to incorporate them into your essay
