Study Worksheets: Part 1

Page 1: Beowulf & Anglo-Saxon Literature; Intro, "Prologue", "Heorot is Attacked"

Since the test for Beowulf is coming, I think that it is smart to make a post for each of the 7 worksheets that we got in class on Friday. If you have any questions that you couldn't get or understand on that sheet, make a comment and everyone will try to answer them.

#16 asks us to name 3 characteristics of the epic poem form. I couldn't find it in my notes. Does anyone know those 3 characteristics?

Thanks lu.l! For #21, I still think that the answer might be that he was an orphan and not from a royal line of leaders.

for #21.. Scyld was the founder of the danes royal line and an orphan. but the question asked how he arrived among the people he would lead, and didn't he arrive in a boat? because when he died, the people sent his body off to sea in a boat filled with treasure because they wanted him to leave the same way he arrived. i'm not positive though.
